R&B star Chris Brown returned to a London courtroom on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, making a brief appearance at Southwark Crown Court as his legal case continues to unfold ahead of a scheduled trial later this year.
The Grammy‑winning singer, now 36, faces a criminal trial set for October 2026 in connection with an alleged nightclub incident in London in 2023. Prosecutors allege Brown carried out an “unprovoked attack” on a music producer inside a London nightclub, accusing him of striking the individual with a bottle.
During Wednesday’s brief hearing, Brown spoke only to confirm his identity and did not comment further. His co‑defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, who is also charged in the case, was present and has denied the allegations as well. Supporters were seen in the courtroom as the hearing concluded.
Brown has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including one count of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm with intent and a lesser count of assault causing actual bodily harm, as part of the ongoing pre‑trial proceedings.
The case stems from an alleged incident at a London nightclub in 2023, which has drawn significant media attention as one of the most high‑profile legal challenges in the R&B star’s career. As preparations continue ahead of the October trial date, both defendants remain free on bail pending further hearings.
